STOLPERSTEIN

"Um den Stein lesen zu können, muss mann sich vor dem Opfer verbeugen."

Gunter Demnig, the inventor of the Stolpersteine-project, intended
to commemorate the persons who during the nazi period were
persecuted, expelled from their homes and murdered. Or for who
life was made impossible in any other way.

For each victim a memorial stone is laid in the sidewalk in front
of the house where this human being last stayed voluntarily.

The Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) make the passer by stop,
bend and remember.
